October 2021 Update: My trial in Portugal in August was amazing! I am so proud to know that I could hold my own against professional footballers in one of the top divisions in Europe. All the players were at least 4 years older than me and I fit right in. Being with a professional club for ten days was such a great experience and it has driven me to want more in my soccer experience!
August 2021: I am going to Portugal because I have been asked to tryouts for Sporting, Benfica and Atletico in Lisbon. I am so very excited for the opportunity.
I take pride in my school work and in my sports. The phrase student athlete defines the way I think; academics are first, followed by the sport.
In order to have success on the field you must first have success in the classroom. I play soccer because I love the game, it has allowed me to form lifelong relationships. Playing soccer has helped me grow as a person and taught me the importance of respect towards my teammates and my opponents.
I’m a calm and composed defender that is able to make speedy
recoveries when needed. I am able to see the field and read the play well. Most importantly, I am strong on the ball and always a team player. Soccer isn’t just a game to me, it’s my passion.
I understand at the college level, achievements are measured by results and I am confident that my skills, determination and adaptability can achieve the coaches, team and universities ambitions.
