Personal Statement
Hey Coach, I am Julia, a 17-year-old midfielder/defender from the German team SC West Köln who wants to spend an adventurous time by playing soccer competitively while pursuing my academic interests. Evident from my average GPA of 4.0 and active involvement in volunteering, education and leadership are very important to me. As a person who is always willing to give everything and push my teammates, I have been awarded by being vice-captain and a member of the team committee last year.
Having played soccer since the age of 9, I have spent most of my career in teams older than me. This summer, I joined the women's soccer team. Additionally, I have received years of special training in the regional performance base, which promotes the region's top players. Whether it is on the soccer field or not, I am known for my tenacity, working hard towards my goals until I have achieved them.
College soccer presents the best chance to pursue my dream of playing soccer professionally, especially since women's soccer receives more recognition in North America. I am eager for the challenge of college soccer due to my love for sports and the desire to be athletically challenged. I am certain that playing at college will let me reach my full athletic potential as I strive for athletic success for my team. Alongside my objectives regarding soccer, I want to study a major that serves my interests and my thirst for knowledge so that I can later on accomplish my dream of becoming a doctor.
I refuse to look back on my life with regrets, not giving up the dream of playing soccer professionally is one of them. Making a difference, whether on the soccer field or in my future career, is a priority for me. Thus, you will see me working hard daily on improving and becoming the best version of myself, physically as well as mentally. I would be honored to join your team and make a lasting impact.
