Personal Statement
I am from Sweden, but I live in Hong Kong. This is my ninth year playing soccer. I attend school at Hong Kong International School. Prior to this year, my freshman and sophomore years were at Shanghai American School, Pudong Campus. I am very interested in competing in soccer at the collegiate level. I am interested in studying environmental or sports science. I work hard at my academics and my athletics.
I have been told that I am extremely coachable. My speed and flexibility is an asset to any team. I prefer to play defensive midfield, but have played outside midfield, center back, and I have some experience playing forward. I enjoy learning about the game of soccer and have developed my skills and knowledge of the sport through coaching and multiple playing opportunities. I currently play for two club teams in addition to my school’s team. I am currently at my third school in four years. This demonstrates my ability to adapt to various coaching styles and teammates. I am known as an excellent collaborator.
In addition to my speed I have other assets to my soccer game. I have a strong shooting range, can play offense or defense. I do what is asked of me by my coaches and ask clarifying questions to deepen my understanding. I train hard at practices and look for opportunities for improvement.
