Personal Statement
The first time I played soccer was in Cameroon, Africa. Although I was off to a late start considering I was in 7th grade, I found an extreme liking to the sport immediately. I was given the MVP award that same year, while I was on the Junior Varsity team. I continually played soccer and was awarded MVP on the Varsity team my 10th grade year. I scored 14 goals during that season, while playing Center Mid or Attacking Center Mid. That same year, I practiced with the Varsity boys team. I have also played both Volleyball and Basketball at the Varsity level.
I am a hard-worker, and I can promise every coach that I will try my best in everything I do. Especially soccer. As a student athlete, I give my maximum effort in academics, and I am currently in line for the high honors roll. I am Vice President of our school, which has helped me learn skills such as responsibility and leadership, all of which can be useful on the soccer pitch.
I have grown up all around the world, from North America, Asia, Europe, to Africa. Interacting with different people from different backgrounds has helped me build good relationships with teammates and coaches wherever I go. I strive to be positive on the field and off the field, in hopes of lifting the team up to not give up, even to the last minute.
My dream is to play soccer at the collegiate level, and I will put in the effort to reach that dream.
