Carmen Gunn '20 Recruiting Profile

Hello!  My name is Carmen Gunn.  I am 18 years old and I have been playing soccer for over 13 years when I attended Mini-Marshals camp and have loved playing since that time!  In addition to soccer, I am a black belt in Tae Kwon Do which taught me to set goals and NEVER GIVE UP!  Those classes taught me how to focus physical strength in my kicks and placement to break boards and concrete which carried over to my soccer game.  I played club soccer from age 8 until age 13, then began playing middle school soccer in the spring and JV and Varsity soccer in the fall.  I train year round to increase my speed, endurance, and foot skills with 3 different training programs in addition to being a multi-sport athlete.  My most memorable soccer moment was last season when the Lady Marshals came from behind to win the regional championship 4-3!  We were behind 2-0 in the first half and I scored a difficult goal that I had been practicing throughout the season.  At that game, I learned that if I keep pushing forward, my team will keep pushing forward and WE NEVER GAVE UP!

I always try to put God first!  I am very involved in my church youth group and even participate in an Area-Wide Bible Bowl and study a book every year and take a test and compete in quick recall.  I won the high school Bible Bowl last year by scoring the highest on the test.   The rest of the time I study for school.  I currently have a 4.13 GPA as I have made all A’s as well as passing advanced placement courses.  I scored a 28 on the  practice ACT test and set a goal to score a 30 on the ACT.   I recently scored a 30 my ACT exam as a sophomore and hope to continue a successful soccer career in high school which will help pave the way to playing soccer in college!
