I've always loved soccer, but the dream to play at the collegiate level started in eighth grade when I was called up to play varsity for my high school team. We were playing our rivals in a night game and the intensity was high as fans for both sides were yelling. After we won and it was all over, I realized I didn't want to stop playing soccer after high school. I wanted to keep playing for as long as I could.
I then started to really put in the hard work. I tried out for the ODP State team and made it. I became a Captain for my club team and recently elected Captain for my junior year at my high school. My coaches knew I had the dedication and that I had earned the respect of my teammates. They knew they could count on me to get what was needed on the field done.
With all this I've maintained a 3.97 GPA (4.0 scale) because I understand the balance between academics and athletics. My efforts in the classroom have rewarded me with the acceptance into the National Honor Society and challengin myself by participating in the Internation Baccalaureate program at my school.
