My name is Eliana Klein, I am a senior playing for the Mt. Hebron High School varsity soccer team. I have been playing soccer since I was 5 years old. For more than 8 years my main positions were center back and striker. During my freshman year, my high school team was in need of a goalkeeper which lead me to one of the biggest decisions I had to make in my soccer career. I decided to completely switch positions and become a full-time goalkeeper for my team. I instantly fell in love with playing keeper and from then on I knew I had to commit a large part of my life to learn and grow to be the best keeper and team player I could be. Building bonds with my teammates on and off the field has always been very important to me so I feel that playing soccer in college would not only allow me to continue to play the sport I love but would also help me build relationships and grow as a person.
Balancing academics and athletics is also very important to me because I plan to go down the line of STEM(most likely studying in biology or pre-med). While I do focus a lot on academics and grades, I think it is also important to carve out time to do things I enjoy which is why I think continuing along my athletic path would be ideal.
