Callie McCarthy '27 Recruiting Profile

Hey coaches! My name is Callie McCarthy, and I am a 2027 graduate from Almont MI. My primary positions are Attacking Mid/Defensive Mid.  I’m a versatile player that has seen time at Center Forward & Center Back as well and can play anywhere on defense-offense. I’m the youngest of 5 kids so I started watching the game of soccer from a stroller on the sidelines and started playing at the age of 4. I’m a very aggressive player and I have been called a beast on the field. I have a high game IQ and can see the game very well. I always try to win the ball back on defense and try to possess it when we are on offense. I’m always looking to give an assist, either by playing through the defensive line or a cut back from the corner. I love assisting and scoring both a lot and I’m always driven to success.

I’ve had the opportunity to play out of country 3 times, which helped me adjust to different playing styles and to be able to adjust to a new team quickly. I am a ODP Midwest Regional player and looking to get a ODP National invite. I play NLC P1 for Cap City 2009 Grey girls. On my club off days I train, I believe that in order to improve individually, you need to train on your own. When the opportunity arises, I enjoy coaching younger kids at summer youth camps. I love soccer and I have high aspirations to go far with my soccer career, I’m striving to play at a high college level and eventually be able to play pro. I want to major in business and eventually open my own club and coach all skill levels.

I work as hard at academics as I work on the field. I’m currently #6 in my class and have a 3.95 GPA. I believe one of my assets is my character on and off the field, I’m a goofy energetic person who makes everyone feel included and I love to make new friends.
