I am Ava Vizina. I originally attended Concordia Ann Arbor where I was on the women’s soccer team. This past year has been challenging to say the least. I got injured 4 days into preseason and was out the remainder of the season. Then in Spring when things finally started to feel normal again, we got the news that our school might be shutting down. I tried to stay positive and have faith that we would get through those difficult times, and we received news that we were guaranteed a year but nothing more. For me, that was enough hope to grasp on to. Then a few days ago we got news that this upcoming school year is truly our last year. I cannot live my normal day to day life knowing that my school will no longer be a thing after this year. That is why I am transferring. In a team I am looking for a family. A team that no matter what hardships we face, we will always get through it together. Obviously winning is important, but the most important thing is how did we perform as individuals, a team, and how can we improve. It has been difficult to decide whether or not I want to continue playing considering I have no stats from this past season, but my parents helped me to understand that I am lucky to still be healthy and able to play. If I get the opportunity to absolutely take it!
