Personal Statement

If you are looking for a versatile athlete, that can excel in any position on the field, you need to look no further. I am a third year varsity soccer player. Like many, I have played soccer since I was young. I am passionate about the sport and rather it’s at practice or a game I give 110% effort daily. That effort begins before the season even commences. I do agility and weight training and participate in varsity volleyball in the fall and soccer in the winter.

Currently my coach capitalizes on my versatility and speed by putting me up against other teams strongest players. If they have a fast forward then he utilizes me on defense to shut them down and protect our goalie (who is new to the position). I also enjoy midfield. In that position I have the speed, strength,  and endurance to be a play maker. I also enjoy playing forward especially when we have a strong back that can get the ball out in front of the defenders and I am able to easily beat them to the ball.

You will find that I am highly reflective, coachable, competitive, and I display good sportsmanship on and off the field. For those reasons I also hold the honor of being a captain this year. Additionally, no matter where I am placed on the field I give it my all. I understand that it is about what is best for the team. I also understand that my role as a defender is just as important as the other roles that I play on the field. I am outgoing and positive and simply put, I love playing soccer and competing.

My drive to always do my best does not stop on the soccer field. Academics and setting goals for college are a top priority for me. I am a 4.0 student and am taking and continue to take a challenging course load. I plan to pursue a medical degree and at this time I am leaning towards becoming a registered nurse and after that pursuing either a degree as a nurse anesthetist or nurse practitioner.

I will be an asset to any team, organization, or employer. I understand the importance of putting in the time and commitment it takes to not only be the best I can be but to also help the team be their best.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
