Personal Statement

My name is Emma Domka and I shovel horse poop (see below)! I started playing soccer when I was 5 years old and I still love the game with all my heart. There are so many reasons why I love soccer: Believe or not, I love to practice, I love the games, I love the team concept.  I am a firm believer in two things: Champions are made in the off-season, and practice like you play, with high intensity.  One of my life goals is to play college soccer somewhere.  I’m currently a starting outside midfielder for Becker High School in Becker, Minnesota.

During my sophomore and senior season I was awarded All-Conference.  My Freshman, Sophomore and Junior  year, I was voted “Most Dedicated” by my teammates. Also, my Senior year I was voted “Most Valuable Player” by my teammates. Some of my soccer nicknames include: “The Hulk,” “Beast,” and “Energizer Bunny.”  I feel like I was labeled this way because of the tenacity with which I play.  My dad always told me that it’s not the size of the dog in the fight, but the size of the fight in the dog.  I would like to think that I play bigger than 5’3”.

Multiple times I have been asked to play up on one of my club teams. Not only do I feel like I contributed, I feel like I played just as good if not better that a lot of the older girls. I guess one would have to ask my teammates as I prefer to remain humble regarding my play and character on and off the pitch.

In college, my interest is to study how to become an athletic trainer or a physical therapist.  It is my hope to major in one of those fields.  When not in school, training, or playing soccer, I work on a horse farm.  I can throw hay bales with the best! It’s hard work, its good work, and a great way to stay in shape.  You should see me shovel horse poop!  I play soccer the way I ride my horse:  Full speed!

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
