I prefer a school with a positive culture and strong academics, as well as a competitive soccer program. I plan to study psychology and business. I am looking for a school where I will be supported in balancing academics and soccer.
I have a competitive yet caring demeanor. I know it’s important to have trust and camaraderie within the team to be successful on and off the field. I place my teammates at the top of my priority while in the net and strive to effectively communicate in order to protect the back line and communicate opportunities offensively.
I love to compete and win, but will always reflect on goals and losses to learn where improvements can be made. I seek feedback to improve. I recognize there are always ways to improve and I have taken coach and trainer feedback to work on identified areas. In addition to team training, I engage in training with goalkeeper coaches (inside and outside of the club) as well as participate in athletic training several times a week. I seek opportunities to train in various camps and goalkeeping opportunities as they arise ( Mn ODP-trained and played for 2018 and trained as a backup for 2019), Mn goalkeeper summit, and guest playing for older age groups for games and tournaments. I have successfully filled in at several USA cup tournaments for 1-2 year age groups above me.
I want to also highlight a few of my strengths that was documented during a player evaluation by Coach Tori Burnett:
-Shots: you had some great saves during NPL. Getting good at extension dives and anything close to you.
-Bravery on 1:1’s and coming off your line: you are not scared to attack the ball and come for balls off your line. Showed great timing to come out at the right times.
-Winning crosses/high balls: great job coming out on balls and crossing on corners. Keep working on that!
I have also worked hard academically to challenge myself. As a freshman, I enrolled in several honors courses. My sophomore year, I continued with honors courses and enrolled in an AP course. As a junior, I went full time as a PSEO student. I have enjoyed the experience as a community college student and believe this is helping me to prepare for the next steps in my academic career. I plan to continue full time PSEO for my senior year to complete generals needed for a 4 year degree.
I am hopeful that I will find a college opportunity where I am able to be a positive and impactful member of a team and community.
