There are many factors that go into a person’s identity and ones that shape it throughout life as well. The people I have met and the experiences I have been through throughout my life have already shaped me into a person so much different than anyone else out there. I was raised in a Christian home. Christian morals and values have impacted the big decisions I have made in life so far. Not just to please my parents, but to please my God, I have chosen to stay away from a destructive lifestyle. This decision has helped in deciding who the people I surround myself with at school and the activities I spend most of my time doing. Outside of school, I spend almost every hour at soccer practice, games, or at home improving my skills. Soccer is my life. Growing up, my love and dedication for soccer has continued to grow and develop and now, soccer almost always comes first. My goals throughout the years have always been to make a high level team, and strive to be a leader on, as well as, off the field. I have always reached my goals in soccer and just continue to raise the bar. My goals for the future include playing on a college soccer team.
I would describe myself as happy and optimistic, as well as very athletic and motivated. I am also an opinionated person, and I will stand up for what I think is right even if it means making someone else mad. I like to lead other people, especially at soccer. However, I strive to lead by example rather than by force. I have been named captain of both my school and club soccer teams. I’m very careful with how I lead, I try hard to gain and keep respect from my teammates. In my junior year my high school coaches and teammates presented me with the "Aikers" award. This award is "presented to the student athlete who most demonstrates what it is to be a dedicated soccer player. It includes but is not limited to; attitude, sportsmanship, leadership, hard work, playing through situations and issues, being a positive role model, and demonstrate a respect and love of the game". I was honored! I have played with passion my whole life and it is nice to know others see it as well. I want to live life to the fullest with no regrets. Soccer has taught me many things including: self-discipline, time management, leadership, confidence, loyalty, team work and honor. I am excited to see where my passion for soccer will lead me next. I hope to find a college where my love of soccer and my love of academics can grow. Thanks for taking the time to view my profile. I look forward to hearing from you.
