The pitch is my 2nd home. The thing I enjoy most about being a goalkeeper is the fact that I get to put my body on the line for something that I love to do and my team. My coaches tell me they love how “coachable” I am & “that I set the bar for hard work and attitude.” I love goalie training - nothing feels as good as being drop-dead exhausted at the end of a session where I have pushed myself to the limit - improving my technique, tactical, and mental game. I enjoy supporting the younger goalies in my program; long-term, I want to be a great goalkeeper that little girls look up to. I aim to play in college, win a national championship, and play professionally nationally or internationally (I am a dual citizen of both the US and Germany).
I have taken leadership training so I can be a leader on the field & off. I am known for motivating others, bringing the team together to bond, & leading by example. I am also a team player - I will play whenever and wherever is needed, recently due to a broken wrist my freshman season I was unable to play in goal. I worked hard to improve my field player skills, earning a starting spot as a field player for Districts and State.
I have faced several challenges including recovering from serious injuries. Those setbacks and not being able to play in goal have made me tenacious. I work hard to play on the field & contribute until I can get back in goal, which improves my overall game. Not being able to do what you love makes you love it more and when I miss my gloves, I come back stronger.
