Hi, My name is Abigail Hynes. I’ve played soccer on and off since kindergarten, I can’t remember when I stopped the first time but I started playing when I moved to Jackson New Hampshire in 5th grade, since then I stopped playing for only my freshman year cause I wanted to take the time to work on basketball which is the other sport I play, then I started back up again my sophomore year, and I’ve been a starter since. Ever since I started playing soccer again I’ve really loved it, and haven’t wanted to stop improving my game, and that’s why this summer I’m taking as many opportunities as I can to improve my game for my senior season.
In College I plain to study Occupational Therapy, over the past couple years I’ve been looking for a career path that I will enjoy, and I am very confident that I will fall in love with this one, why that is, is because I will still be involved with sports, but also I will be helping people get back to the sport that they love! Although I don’t have a lot of academic achievements to show off, this up coming year I’m planning on joining more clubs to be more active with the community, and I’m hopefully going to get into a extended learning opportunity (ELO) to work with some people who are in the career field that I want to go into.
Traits that make me stand out as an athlete: In the 2023 season I was ranked #1 for amount of saves in D2, I had 137 saves total. I’m hard working, I give my all, I’m a leader, and I ask my coaches what I can work on to get better.
Thank you for taking the time to read my personal statement. I hope that you see my ambition and drive towards soccer and Occupational Therapy, and that you will consider me as a student athlete for your program!
