I’ve always considered myself someone who can excel on and off the field. Whether it’s the last minute of a game, or the last day in a school quarter, I stay committed. As I’ve continued to seek further interest in colleges and universities, I haven’t just been looking at the athletic perspective, but also the academic aspects. I would like to pursue a school which provides for both my academic and athletic values.
As a student, I perform well inside the classroom. I expect a lot from myself, and consider school my number one priority. I try to incorporate things I’m passionate about in the classes I take. For example, the environment is something I take pride in defending, so this semester, I chose my history class as environmental history. I believe it’s important to want to learn, rather than just focusing on grades. As for utilizing resources outside of school, I joined a youth group in 7th grade at a community church to help with service projects. The church is a community one, so religion isn’t the focus. With my youth group, we do a lot to help better our community as well as other communities. Last year, out focus was homelessness. We researched the causes and effects, and not only reached out to local shelters to help, but took the trip to Boston to spend the night in a city shelter, to truly understand the gravity of what people experiencing homelessness feel . This year, we plan to focus on the environment, and will hopefully be taking a trip to the White Mountains, NH, to work on a eviornment project. I strive to succesful not only. in the classroom, but to learn outside of school as well. Inside of school, I’m very focused. I try my best to not only get the best grade I can, but to be able to understand the content of the class. I strive to be successful in school, doing this by staying committed and focused.
As a player, I work hard, and stay concentrated. Since the age of nine, my passion has been soccer. I play almost every week of the year, and I can’t picture my life without it. I play either striker or a wide midfielder. I’m the best at these positions because I’m fast, quick with my feet, and have great endurance. I run track in the spring, which has helped me gain the endurance. In 2018, I was undefeated in the 100m hurdles, and won MVP for the seacoast region. Along with the speed, I have a good understanding of how the game works. I’m able to make quick plays and quick decisions. This year, for my fall season, I received the MVP for my high school soccer team while also remaining on honor roll.
I work hard, and am fully committed to putting the time and work for my soccer teams. I want to be able to play college soccer because I know I’m up for the challenge. It would be an honor to play for any team for college, and I hope this personal statement helps you understand me a little more.
