Personal Statement

My name is Kaylee Munster and I’m a freshman at Allentown High School.  I really enjoy being part of a team and would love the opportunity to play either soccer or lacrosse collegiately.  My first year in high school started off amazingly!  I was one of only 5 freshman on the Allentown High School Central Group III Varsity State Champion team. Incredibly, we set every AHS girls varsity soccer record in school history finishing 22-1 for the season winning the school's first ever state title. I had 5 goals, 2 assists for 16 varsity games and was top scorer with 13 goals in 7 freshman games (Captain, AHS Freshman Soccer). I think it was our close-knit teamwork that made a difference.

I've played travel soccer since I was 9 and was top scorer in 2017 for UFA Elite (22 goals, 8 assists). I’m currently captain of my travel team and strive to be supportive by being a good role model and setting the tempo.  If I try my hardest, so will the rest of the team.  I received the Outstanding Female Athlete Award in 8th grade, and the MVP and top scorer awards for soccer with 3 hat tricks in 10 games.

I’ve played lacrosse since I was 9, was captain of my middle school team and received the Offensive Player of the year award.  I received MVP for two years in a row while playing on our community travel team, Dragons. I've played attack, midi and defense, but love midi where I like to use my speed. I've also been playing club lacrosse since 7th grade and currently play for Ultimate NJ 2021. I’m excited and looking forward to playing lacrosse at the high school level in spring 2018.

I’ve enjoyed volunteering as a Junior Dragons lacrosse coach for the past 3 seasons.  I like being able to see them improve a lot from beginning to end and it makes me feel great knowing that I was able to do that.

I also ran my own dog biscuit making “company” where 100% of the money raised went to the Burlington County Animal shelter, and have led several food drives and worked to replenish a historic battlefield cemetery in our community.

I am currently taking 3 honors classes this year (Spanish, World History, and English) and am an undecided major.

Coach endorsements

Justin Schmid, Coach, Stone Bridge Middle School

Athletic ability: 9/10

Leadership: 7/10

Team player: 8/10

Easy to work with: 8/10

Ability: "She has pure speed, solid foot skills, above average finishing, great balance, strong, quick acceleration, effective first touch

Personality: "For the 2016 fall Stone Bridge Middle School season I had the pleasure of coaching Kaylee. I will certainly talk about her speed, skills and goal scoring ability but I want to start off with her top quality-- mental toughness. Kaylee was the most talented player on my team (a team that went 11-2). Along with being the most talented she was the top goal scorer. As we know in sports, being in that type of spotlight brings pressure, envy and unfair criticism, especially when mistakes are made. As a goal scorer you have to be tough mentally, scoring chances are going to be missed and you can't let that affect the next chance, chances or stretch of games. Kaylee never let one play define her. She never let missing an opportunity, maybe an easy one get to her and whether or not anyone was going to criticize her. On top of that she had a new coach and new style to learn. She was never overwhelmed or felt the pressure. She used her tremendous speed, great ball skills, scoring touch and embraced the new style all to combine in scoring a school record of 17 goals in 13 games. If she missed an opportunity, the next two she was netted or the next game was a hat trick (she had 3 on the season). The results in one short season I saw from Kaylee were impressive, if given a chance (which any coach would be so lucky) I would take her on my team again"

Lee Holden, Coach/Trainer, Mercer Elite Development Academy

Athletic ability: 10/10

Leadership: 8/10

Team player: 10/10

Easy to work with: 10/10

Ability: "Kaylee has a unique athletic ability which puts her above many team players and other players within NJ. The speed is remarkable and her ability to change direction without stopping is the best I’ve seen. Ball control and skills is again at the top of her game and has allowed Kaylee to captain the team and be a recognized first team player. I highly recommend Kaylee as she holds all the attributes you would want from a first class athlete."

Personality: "Kaylee is a bright lady who is always looking to be the best but also helping her team and friends reach the same goal. Kaylee takes on my drills and new drills like they were her own and will not be satisfied until she has mastered the ability. Kaylee is a lady who arrive first and leaves last as she looks to improve every moment she can. Kaylee is kind, helpful, directive and not shy to ask questions that will help her benefit more knowledge of the game. Remarkable student and I am proud to be able to train such talent."

Leadership: 10/10

Team player: 10/10

Easy to work with: 10/10

Ability: "Kaylee is one of the most driven players I've ever had the privilege to coach. Her speed and talent has really improved over the past couple of seasons, as a top scorer on my team Kaylee has shown nothing but excellence. She has a lot of potential to play at a high level of soccer and will stop at nothing to achieve that. "

Personality: "Kaylee has an amazing outgoing personality that can put a smile on anyone's face. She shows great leadership and responsibility as a captain on my team, the rest of my girls look up to her as a role model and leader. "
