I dream of combining high academic achievement with playing soccer at the collegiate level as soccer has been my lifelong passion. While I am not yet sure what profession I will pursue, I would love a school in which I can fully immerse myself into the academics, the sports program and the overall culture. I believe that hard work, building friendships, and contributing to the collegiate community as a whole will help me become the best person I can be.
Being a part of a team has always played a big role in my life. I am the middle of three children who are all extremely close in age. I have always been a team player. Aside from my actual performance on the field, I love contributing to my teams by lifting others up, and motivating them to work hard on and off the field. The support of teammates and coaches and the bonds we create, has shaped me into the soccer player and person I am today. I would be so grateful to be given the opportunity to continue that in college.
My greatest quality, I am told by many, has always been my passionate yet easy going personality. I am easy going in life, but not on the soccer field. I will do whatever it takes and always work my hardest. I have been the recipient of a few awards in recent years which attest to my passion and personality and contribute to my ability to lead by example and be a good teammate both on and off the field. One was voted on by my peers and was for leadership, character and compassion towards others. Most recently, I was the recipient of my high school team’s “Team First” award which means that I always put my team’s need ahead of my personal wishes. On my travel team I generally play striker. Occasionally, I am moved to midfield if we have a need there. In the fall of 2017, I scored 19 goals for my team during our regular season with many assists. On my high school team, I am moved around based on where the greatest need on the field is as they see me as a versatile player who can and will happily play any position.
I will always strive to do my best and I will always conduct myself with dignity and respect. I know I can be a great contributor to any college both academically and athletically. I look forward to going to a college that has great academics and will position me for a successful career in life. I also look forward to growing as an athlete and working hard amongst a group of teammates that will be like family. Finding a college that will allow me to do both will be a dream come true.
