My collegiate goals include both academic and athletic goals. First off, it has always been an aspiration of mine to play on a competitive soccer team. At the same time, I also understand the importance of attending college and doing well academically. Although I am undecided on the specific area of study, I do know that it will be in the medical industry. I am a good candidate because I always consider myself a team player that puts the team’s needs above my own personal needs or stats. This along with my competitive nature make me a versatile player. I always strive to give 100% on the practice field and during games. What makes me stand out from other recruits is that not only do I consider myself an athlete but I also proud of my academic achievements. I am a multiple sport varsity athlete, earning my letters in three sports (soccer, basketball, lacrosse), by my sophomore year. Additionally, I have always had a good relationship with my coaches, and felt comfortable in speaking with them on a personal level, while many other players had a tendency to be shy and fearful. I am an honest, courteous and caring person that is passionate in achieving my goals. This past season for my high school soccer team was a growing experience. We had 17 seniors that had graduated and we had a limited number of returning players with experience, and a lack of leadership on and off the field. Additionally, my twin sister and fellow teammate suffered a torn ACL. This was difficult for me as it was the first time that she was not on the field with me for practices and games. As she recovered I had to help her at school and drive her to her physical therapy. As if this was not enough, I also suffered a rib injury that kept me out of the starting rotation for a few games. Looking back on these experiences, I feel that it helped me be a better person. I learned I had good leadership qualities that came natural to me. It also helped me understand that things are not handed out, and that we have to work award to achieve our goals.
