Personal Statement

Hi Coach. My name is Demi Owens. I am a 2024 F-CM for Teaneck (NJ) High School and STA GA 2006 Girls. I am a 3-time All-Big North Conference player, who led the conference in goals (68 career goals since 2021). I was also the leading scorer on my previous academy team. I have a hunger to win games for my teams, work hard and prove myself. This mentality helps me dominate on the field and has shaped me into the player that I am today. I look forward to playing at the college level because I know the coaches will shape me into the best version of myself. I would love for you to watch my highlight videos from 2021-2023.

Physical Strength & Conditioning: Demi’s conditioning is extraordinarily strong, which enables her to maintain a high level of performance throughout an entire game. Demi’s physical strength is good but she can and will benefit from a weight training program and natural maturity as she gets a bit older. She has the body and frame to be very physically fit. Speed & Ball Control: Without a doubt, Demi’s speed and control on the ball are her two greatest assets. This skill set makes her a nightmare to deal with at the top of the field during buildup of play, and especially in one v. one’s, which she does not hesitate to take-on. While Demi is very technical with both of her feet she is right foot dominant. Balancing both of her feet will make her extraordinarily dangerous. While Demi is very good at controlling balls out of the air, she hesitates to attack balls in the air. Improving this element of her game will make her a complete striker. Distribution & Decision Making: In addition to her speed and ball control, Demi possesses a poise and vision for the game that many her age simply do not have. Demi is an excellent distributor, always completing the majority of her passes across an 80-minute game. Whether this is with her back to pressure or on the attack, her distribution is excellent. Passes are accurate, rolling, and weighted appropriately. Demi’s vision extends further up the field which allows her to take space and draw defenders in when players are in front of her yet has the confidence and poise to hold the ball in possession with her back to pressure while the play is building. Competitive Spirit: Demi is one of the most competitive players I have ever had the opportunity to coach. This is a player that wants to score goals and win games, and has the skill set to deliver on both. Demi is a very competitive person, however, if she doesn’t feel challenged, she can become complacent at times. That said, the most competitive environment Demi can be surrounded by is best.
