Hi! My name is Valerie Hayes. I have been playing soccer ever since Kindergarten at the young age of 5. I joined my town's recreational soccer program and quickly fell in love with the sport. I continued to play with them until 7th grade. At the age of 8, I also joined my first travel team the WildCats. We played in a competitive futsal league in the winter and MOSA soccer in the spring. When I first started playing, my coaches moved me around a lot on the field until they placed me in defense. When my first travel team went their separate ways, I tried out and was offered a position at Ocean United which was another MOSA team at the time. Over the next couple years I worked hard to become one of the best defenders on my team. Then I was given the opportunity to play at a more competitive level, EDP Premier with Middletown Milian . While on Milan, I had the opportunity to play teams that were ranked 1st to 100th all over the Tristate area. Sadly my Coach at Milian decided to retire from coaching, and I decided to continue my career with Monmouth United out of Middletown. Here I had the opportunity to play in several tournaments and all over NJ.
After graduating from middle school, I joined the Shore Regional Soccer team, and I am now on the Varsity Team. While playing for High School I have continued to play travel soccer and recently joined PSA. I am looking to continue playing soccer all throughout College. It has become a huge part of my life. I work hard and train harder to make myself the best that I can be. My teammates are like family to me which I value as much as I do the game.
