Hello, my name is Ella Bordwell. I am a junior year at Tuckahoe High School in Eastchester, NY. we just finished our season with the Manhattan Soccer Club (MSC), Stars G2004 NL. Next year I will be playing with the MSC Union, U17 (2005) team. My graduating class is 2023.
I started playing soccer when I was 5-years-old and am passionate about the sport. I am also involved in many extracurricular activities outside of school which has taught me the value of time management. My interests include; youth community groups, tango and chamber orchestra groups, viola and violin, drums, and playing in the Select Orchestra at school. I have maintained a grade average of 99 through 11th grade while taking AP classes with all of these activities.
I am determined to do whatever it takes to improve mentally and physically to play in college. I train hard to prepare myself for the challenges ahead and recently added training two times a week at Velocity Sports Performance Center to improve my speed, strength, and quickness. I will increase these sessions to three times a week starting in June in preparation for the fall season.
Soccer has always been a part of my life. In the summer of my freshman year, I traveled to Zambia, Africa, to help coach young girls of all ages in the beautiful game. This opportunity led to helping establish the Ella Bordwell Queens FC, which I continue to support in whatever ways I can, including fundraising for equipment and health care needs and recording training videos. It has been a powerful learning experience for me and one that I will undoubtedly continue.
Playing in college is my goal, and I will take my opportunities very seriously. I am looking forward to playing the rest of the spring season, my club and high school fall seasons, and then college!
