My name is Brianna Winrow. I attend Clarkstown North Highschool, I'm a Forward and Right Wing, class of 2027. I have been playing soccer since I was 4 years old (10 years now). As I learn and grow as not only a player but a person too, the idea playing at the collegiate level has become more prominent. I always knew at a young age that I love soccer and that was a sport I would wanna pursue. Although I love soccer I always know acedemics come first, I keep my grades up in all my classes. As only a Freshman I have made it on many honor rolls and high honor rolls throughout my years of school
One of the biggest things I learned from soccer was that you have to have a good attitude about things. Whether you win or lose, there is no need to act out in a result of a game you don't agree with on other people, whether it is the other team or even your own teammates and many more but you should also be respectful when you do get the result that you wanted as well. This doesn't only translate to soccer though, it has also translated to everything else in my life you have to be positive and look at the better sides of things so even when it doesn't go your way you know you tried your best to at least get where you are and be happy you got there.
When my high school soccer coach pulled me up to come play for the JV team while I was in eighth grade, I was more inspired than ever. It taught me that if you put your mind to something and work hard you will achieve so many things. That opportunity I tried to take the most advantage of, I've always typically liked being with the older kids when playing sports simply because of the competition and this was just a level up. It made me learn and compete even harder. I was also given the opportunity to move up to varsity during our playoff run, although we got cut short in the Section 1 final it was an experience I'll never forget. The family and bonds I've created from soccer are irreplaceable and It would be a dream of mine to continue to play in college.
