My name is Kady Cushing and I am a graduate of Saint Joseph Academy. I have been playing soccer since I was three and ever since my first practice, I have been in love with the game. My mom had taken me to a Medina Little League game that my friend was playing in and after watching her I knew I wanted to play. I have graduated from the Cleveland Soccer Academy and have played one season for Notre Dame College. I'm looking to transfer and find somewhere I can truly call home. I play left and center back and I can be switched to midfield if needed. I don't let my size stop me from winning those 50/50 balls or out jumping and out running the forward who is 4+ inches taller than I am. I am willing to sacrifice my body in any way I need to in order to help out my team. Whether it means hitting the dirt and slide tackling someone or risking my body to win a header, I am up to the task. This has definitely influenced the way I think about myself. I have learned not to let my size stop me from accomplishing anything I want to. I know that If I really put my mind to something and go for it with everything I have, I will accomplish it.
My parents have definitely influenced who I am as well. They are my biggest cheerleaders. Whenever I feel defeated or upset they are always there to comfort me and tell me that it won't define who I am and where my career in soccer will go. They have helped me through every little bump in my path and they have helped me mature as a player as well as a person.
I have always been a dedicated student and I have never gotten anything below a B- on a report card. I am looking for a college with both a Criminal Justice program and Middle Childhood Education program as those are fields I have wanted to have a career in since I was 12 years old. I am hoping to graduate and pursue my masters degree, and of course, play collegiate soccer in the process.
