Hello coaches!
My name is Katelyn Massie, but everyone calls me Katie or by my last name. I was introduced to soccer at the age of five through my local recreation league. I have also competed in select basketball, softball, AAU track, and cross country. The sport I love the most is soccer and I decided to take the game more seriously my seventh-grade year. I currently play on a competitive soccer club team. I reached my goal of making the high school varsity soccer team as a freshman and started all games that season.
Soccer has brought me the most wonderful relationships! At this point in my life, I am focused on playing soccer in college. I am putting in the work physically and academically. Family and friends are important elements in my life. My parents and my sister continue to support me through this journey.
I am a great candidate for your team because of my athleticism and my coachable attitude. I am quick at tracking down players on breakaways and have distinct technical defensive skills on the ball. I am able to transition rapidly up the field when my team needs numbers. I love strong competition! I believe communication is critical on the field. I am vocal and can find a rapid solution when there is a threat. I raise my teammates up when they lose their confidence and applaud them when performing well. To succeed in the future, I take school seriously as well. Becoming a captain my junior year of high school has helped me become a leader.
I enjoy spending time with my dogs, Keeper and Striker. I also enjoy listening to music and attending concerts with my friends.
I am undecided on what major I would like to take in college. I am interested pre medicine and animal science.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about me!
