I always try to find ways to better myself so that I can reach my full potential. This summer I had the opportunity to be a foreign exchange student in Japan. I was sent to Ibaraki, Japan where I spent 2 weeks with a host family. While there, I took classes during the day in English, History, Athletics, Math and Ancient Japanese Culture. My favorite food while I was there was Ramen and Chicken and spicy mayo. It was soooo good! I stayed with my host in Kasama, they took me to visit Tokyo, and a few students and I visited the beach on another day and swam in the ocean. I appreciated how kind everyone there was to me. The most shocking thing I learned was that students are not required to attend high school and have to "test in", though I feel most students did opt to attend. After traveling across the world as an exchange student, I now feel that I could attend college anywhere!
