My name is Ariana Dandu and I am a 2025 transfer student from Penn West Clarion University. I am originally from Ajax, Ontario, close to Toronto! As I played the Fall season with Clarion university, I played a variety of positions, such as winger, midfield, full back and lastly striker. Whilst I feel I thrive as a false 9 or 10, I am versatile and quick to adjust to the position needed. Coming in to play collegiate soccer at 17, my life was changed and my eyes were opened by the intensity of being a collegiate athlete. Embedded in my blood a fire to win and compete. As I was able to play in every game the season, I grew as a player and a person as well. With drive, and personality, I was able to experience a variety of skill sets through competing in the PSAC, learning the importance in physicality, one of my strengths was indefinitely established. As an impact player, my presence was acknowledged on the field due to my work ethic and ability to compete physically and mentally, sharing my expertise. Battling experienced players and getting adequate playing time, my impact as a player was through my game IQ and ability to anticipate plays and “play smart”. Additionally, I also partake on the track and field team for Clarion and run 1500 and 1600m races! As more than an athlete but a student-athlete, my major is pre-medical science with the intent of pursuing neuroscience. Whilst awaiting my GPA, I have spent the first semester learning how to balance being a student athlete such as prioritizing school whilst upholding soccer commitments such as games and travelling. Searching for a new school, I am looking for a competitive team with a good school community to take part in. As I am learning and growing, I am on a mission to find my new home!
