I live in a town of 7000 about 40 minutes from the nation's capital, Ottawa. When I was 8, I belonged to a soccer club in my hometown, they had never had a competitive team at my age level and the town decided to enter a boy's competitive team into a program. They needed to have a couple of girls in order to enter and they asked me to play. When the season was over, I told my mother that I was going to go to College in Florida to play soccer, I wished I could play soccer all year long and want to play on team Canada. My mother laughed at me and said that I would need a scholarship for that and I could play soccer all year long in Ottawa. I asked what is a scholarship, asked her to research it with me, and asked to join a club in Ottawa. Then I started to work towards my goal. My mother just thought that I wanted to go to Disney World every day, but she supported me and started the journey towards my dream. I am a member of the OPDL (Ontario Player Development League), the provinces first youth high-performance league. Last season I was provincially screened, placed 6th in scoring in the league. For this season, I secured a position in Ottawa on the 4th placed team in the League but is the highest placed team in the Ottawa area. I am focused, solid academically and athletically. I need you to help me fulfill my dream!
