Hello! My name is Alicia McMurren, and I am Canadian student athlete currently playing at Waterloo United. I played in the OPDL program, a high performance league from U13-U16, before moving to plate for my clubs League 1 Reserves Team. I primarily play as a winger but am completely comfortable playing as an attacking midfielder as well as a central striker. I have even played a bit of fullback.
Playing for around 7 years, soccer has been a huge passion and a large part of my life. Most of what I do in my free time is soccer related, whether it be watching, footwork, or working out - I enjoy doing anything I can to be the best version of myself. And I know that can only be achieved through balance, which is why I always try to ensure I keep that healthy balance of school, soccer and socials. I aspire to play a high level soccer where I know I will be pushed to be that best version of myself by coaches and teammates.
Aside from soccer, I have run for my high schools cross country program, and was the District 8 champion in my grade 9 year. My grade 11 year, my team won the senior girls category overall, and my school won the overall girls and overall school award. I ended up finishing with a seventh place. Continuing to run will help to push me to become a better soccer player and athlete.
Education wise, I have made my courses more selective and narrowed done by courses to primarily science and social science based in hopes of furthering my education in that field.
