Jessica Misek '23 Recruiting Profile

Hi and nice to virtually meet you! I am currently 17 years old and will be graduating in 2023. Like many people I started soccer at a young age and was told I showed talent right from the start. My greatest obstacle was not making the U13 OPDL team in 2018 for the Club I played for from the age of 4. It was heartbreaking but only pushed me to work harder. I tried out for another OPDL team half way through the season and I was immediately recruited. I’ve played on an OPDL team ever since, growing physically and mentally. Throughout it all I remained determined and optimistic. I learned the importance of commitment, passion, and resilience and continue to hold these values to this day.

The thing that sets me apart is my enthusiasm. That may not seem like much but it is the defining factor of what separates me from everyone else in both academic and athletic aspects of my life. I cheer on my teammates both on and off the field and I have a tendency to raise the stakes no matter how small the task. I see myself as easy going and a team player. All of my coaches are astounded at my ability to impact the people around me through my passion and love of soccer. In school, I push my ability to the limit and take courses in advance, challenging myself with multiple AP courses all while striving to earn the GOLD for the Duke of Edinburgh International Award. I am an impact player on and off the field and I am looking for a school that will challenge both academic and athletic aspects of my life.
