I began playing soccer at 4 years old and since then, I have fallen in love with the game. I have always dreamed of playing on a big stage, and the top collegiate level can provide that. I know that playing at the top level requires hard work, determination and sacrifice. I have and continue to put in the hard work daily including extra training off the field. I am determined that these training investments will help to bring my game to the next level.
I am physically strong and having previously played at the midfield position, my ball handling skills and footwork are very reliable. I am equally strong with both feet, which makes distribution much easier, and my quick reflexes and reaction time are an asset when saving difficult shots. My involvement in other sports include hockey, basketball, volleyball and track and field. This has contributed immensely to my overall fitness and athleticism. I have always been a strong leader on my teams, and try to encourage and motivate everyone, whether we are winning or losing. I take directions very well, and like to be given constructive criticism and coaching that will help improve my game.
I have always been a hardworking student in the classroom, and I manage my time and studies efficiently to maintain a high GPA. Balancing soccer, school work, volunteering and social activities has helped me to develop my excellent organizational and time management skills which will be a great asset when playing at the university level. I volunteer at sports camps during the summer and at the Ottawa Food Bank during the year. I also enjoy spending time with my friends and family, and maintain a close knit group that is very supportive of my goals and aspirations.
My goal is to attend a college/university that will challenge me academically and athletically. I am open to many options and want to find the right school at the highest level of competition possible. I will strive to become a leader and a role model for children playing soccer, and would really like to demonstrate that the investment my family has made into soccer for me will be well returned.
