All student athletes must learn the importance of focus and dedication to their commitments both in the classroom and on the pitch. However, sport requires much more than attending practices and games. Dedication to your sport means that you reflect on your performance, training and mentality. It means that you bring nothing but your all to each session, game, tournament and even team bonding, not just for yourself but for your whole team.
As a Grassroots Coach and Ontario Soccer Match Official, I have gained a new understanding of the game of soccer. I have experienced the depth of the role our coaches play each time they try to formulate which players work best together, or how the opposing team plays. By being a Match Official I have also gained further respect for my referees but also learned to be decisive and confident in several roles on and off of a pitch.
Academics have always come first for myself, as my goal is to study Biochemistry in my undergraduate years, to become a Doctor or researcher. I have an undying passion to learn especially in the sciences.
My eagerness to learn allows me to be very coachable and dedicated to improving any part of my game. I have fast feet and can adapt to new drills and plays very well. I bring great team spirit and leadership to help my teammates at any level.
There is no doubt in my mind that I would be a perfect fit for your team, and representative of your school.
