Hayley Woodside -...Personal Statement
Playing soccer is my passion and has been ever since I could kick a ball. It has always come a very close second to my academics and it is what I look forward to every day of the week. I am an extremely competitive person, so soccer is the perfect outlet for me. I have always loved the idea of playing for a Div 1 team and I would love to make that a reality.
I play as a starting forward for both high school and club teams. I am primarily left footed but can use my right foot as well. My strong point is definitely one on one, pulling a move on a defender or taking set pieces. I run track and love sprinting, so it comes in handy when I need to get up and down the side of the field as a winger. Where my strong point is taking a defender on, I am always looking up for an opportunity to pass the ball off to a teammate, and I take great pride in anything I put out.
I have been MVP for my high school team 2 years in a row and am proud to say I captained the school team last year. I would love to show what I have to offer representing a Div 1 university /college after I graduate high school in June of 2017.
