Being an only child and living in a secluded area forced me to become a very independent person and made me driven by my own wants and needs.
For 8 years of my life, I was a competitive dancer but when I turned 10, I realized I was not in love with dance anymore. My parents wanted me to find a new sport, so I tried many sports; cheerleading, swimming, skiing, and soccer. The only one I truly built a connection with was soccer.
I love being a part of a team. Being able to have a connection with my teammates makes me strive to be a better player. I love when my team wins games and tournaments because I can truly feel the amity throughout the whole team, and that is what soccer is all about for me.
My academic goals for high school are to maintain an average of 90% and above so I can fulfill my dreams of becoming a lawyer. After high school, I plan to go to university and study an undergraduate degree in the political science field, so I can eventually get into a law school.
Because I started soccer at the age of 10, all the rep teams were established. So, I was overlooked by all the A team coaches. I played on a B team for the first two years of my soccer career and then played on an A team for the next four years. This year, I made the Hamilton United Regional team.
I am able to take charge of a team, make plays, stay calm and be an aggressive player. It is very easy for me to take charge of a team, as I am a very positive, vocal person and am easy to talk to. When I am on the field it is very natural for me to see plays. I am also an aggressive player. I am not afraid to go in body first and ball second. My rule for myself is that if you can’t get the ball, get the player.
