Personal Statement

Hi, my name is Delaney McNett and I am a sophomore at Lower Columbia College.  As a fall 2025 transfer student, I am looking for the right soccer program and undergraduate program.  During my time at LCC, I have played as an outside defender and have loved being part of a back line other teams were afraid to face.

I love playing soccer.  Since as long as I can remember, I have wanted to play college soccer. I have reached the first phase of my goal playing for Lower Columbia College in Longview, Washington.  It has been an amazing experience.  Exceptional teammates and coaches who have become my family.  I believe I am not only a better player, but a better person after playing at LCC the past two seasons.   I love my team and work hard for the success for myself, teammates and especially my coaches.

I am not done playing soccer.  Although my time as a Red Devil is over, I'm ready to move forward and suit up for a new program, find my new family and once again play the game I love. I am ready to continue for two more years!

Over the past several years, I have learned more about myself not only as a player, but perhaps more importantly as a person. My goal is to be part of a college soccer program where I am able to further develop my skills, contribute and have a positive impact while being part of something bigger than myself. For me, the “who” is as important as the “where”. I know the life of a student athlete is not easy, but I want to be pushed daily to better myself.  I want to win for myself, my teammates, my coaches and most of all the program.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
