I have thought about my goals for my time in college and onward. Soccer has been such a huge part of my life and I have always had the desire to play in college. My academic path is to achieve the credentials to teach the Japanese language here in the states. Other collegiate opportunities I would love to explore are to travel abroad and possibly attend a university in Japan while playing soccer. These aspirations solidify my personality and passion towards what I love and hope to do in the future. I love playing soccer and enjoy participating in Japanese cultural activities. I speak fluent Japanese which is not a language that I learned from my family but rather from my attendance in a Japanese Immersion academic program, beginning in kindergarten and which will carry me through my senior year in AP Japanese.
There is so much I have learned from the sport of soccer. I began at the age of 5 and it was "lots of fun" as I recall. I wore my shinguards on the outside of my socks and ran just to run. What made me want to go back to each and every game was my amazing coach and teammates. Our team name was the Incredigirls and stuck together until we were eligible to play at the club level. We learned team work. We learned to admire and support each other. We learned soccer skills. We all learned to love the game. That was 12 years ago and I still feel the same. Other traits that have always stuck with me are discipline, respect, commitment and work hard for what you want on and off the field.
These personality traits of mine set me apart from other candidates and my personal experiences also add to what makes me unique.
