My name is Bethcaida and I love soccer. What people might not know about me is that I also want to help people and become a nurse. I love infants and would love to work in labor and delivery.
I am different from other recruits because of where my motivation comes from. My father immigrated to this country to provide a better life for his family. He and my mother have instilled in me the desire to succeed and create better opportunities for myself.
I have always been competitive in nature but my early training has shown me how to think of my team and rely on my team. Soccer isn't an independent sport, its a team sport and I have learned to make split decisions that benefit the group and not just myself. I have learned that constructive criticism, although not always what I want to hear, will make me better, and I strive to do better in every area of my life.
I am working really hard in my academics because I have learned that being a student has to come first. Although that hasn't always been my outlook I am trying to excel in all aspects of my life, not just the athletic part.
I will end by saying that I will not take for granted all that my parents have done for me to have these opportunities. I will strive and continue to do better and better, because pushing myself will all be worth it.
