Starting on my high school varsity soccer team as a freshman was the highlight of my year. Although our team fell short in the district finals losing in Penalty Kicks (PKs), I feel I grew as a student-athlete on and off the field. This experience helped me realize my ability to turn something negative into positive, such as wanting to get better everyday. I was lucky enough to be a part of a successful program my freshman year, being Colonial Division champs, District III finalist, and personally selected to the Mid-Penn Colonial Division 2nd Team all star team. During this time I had the opportunity to enhance my teamwork, dedication, and sacrifice for a team which carried over to my basketball season.
Off of the field and court I also enjoy participating in school clubs and volunteering in my community (Salvation Army and Project Share). I especially enjoy the Perfect Peers club where I get to interact with students with down syndrome. I enjoy being a part of this program as our objective to make Perfect Peers an inclusion club and everyone feel equal. Recently I was selected to be part of my Mini-THON club.
When looking for a college, I’m looking for a program that fits me best athletically and academically. After high school I have always wanted to continue my soccer career at a collegiate level considering some of my best friends I have made are on my soccer team. When it comes to being a student athlete, I strive on structure which makes me a stronger student. I find becoming a stronger student makes me a balanced athlete and student. I am confident I not only have the desire. work ethic, and leadership to participate at a collegiate level, but most importantly I know that I have the qualities to make an impact on your program.
“I’ve worked too hard and too long to let anything stand in the way of my goals. I will not let my teammates down and I will not let myself down,” (Mia Hamm).
