I have been playing soccer since I was four years old and over these last eleven-plus years, I have become passionate not only about the game of soccer but about what it means to be a true athlete on and off the field. I have grown into the role of being a team leader and I fully understand what it means to be a team player. On my club team, Super Nova, I have been the captain for the past four years. In that role, I learned the importance of communication, dedication, and teamwork. I understand that my role as a goalkeeper is to be the eyes of the field, and communicate what I see to my team. With this hard work, I was recognized by the ODP coaching staff and made the Regional I team in 2019. In addition, I assisted my high school team, Red Land HS, to the first round of the PIAA State Champion games last season, which has not happened in our school history in the past thirteen years. I want to share my success and love of soccer with others. Recently, I have taken opportunities to work with younger children and help develop their skill set by refereeing and providing goalkeeper training for a local recreation soccer club.
I cannot talk about being an athlete without using the word dedication. Being heavily involved with soccer, I have taken that dedication with me in many aspects of my life. My academic career does not fall second to soccer. I understand the importance of achieving my goals in the classroom just as much as I do on the field. I currently have a 3.9 GPA and see myself moving on to college with those same high standards I hold for myself. I would like to pursue a career in business, sports management.
