Hello, my name is Sophia Verlinghieri. I am currently a sophomore at Archbishop John Carroll High School. I am a varsity starter as a holding midfielder my freshman year and center back my sophomore year. I also play club soccer for 1776 United, where I have grown and excelled as a player for the last 7 years. Over these years my love and desire for the sport of soccer have continued to grow. I currently hold a 5.23 GPA and I am enrolled in all honor-level classes. I volunteer my time as a student ambassador, assisting with many school events. I am also a multi-sport athlete at Carroll, playing basketball for our high school team.
Post high school, I am interested in learning sports science, including physical therapy and athletic training. I am motivated to continue being a great student along with pursuing the goal of being a college-level athlete. I feel I am a leader both on and off the field. I was taught the importance of hard work early in my life and I have never been too shy to make a mistake. I have grown more from my failures than my successes. I am excited about my future and can not wait to take the next step in my life.
