My name is Kristina Gorton I'll be graduating from Souderton Area High School in the spring of 2015. I am an honors/ap student and I am a current member of Student Council. The amount of work i put into my studies is just the same amount of work I put into my play. I had been given the opportunity to play on the schools varsity team as a freshman and a sophomore. I had decided it was not in my best interest to play after my sophomore year. I earned the opportunity to play on my state ODP team for two years. I also was invited to US National Training the two times it was held in my area. I found it to be a humbling experience and one that has pushed me to better myself. I am currently playing on "Upper Salford FC Strikers". One of the things I have learned to be most important is teamwork and dedication to your team and coach. Soccer has been a part of my life from a very young age. I have always pushed myself to be a better player, and seeking the help of trainers/ coaches to help me and push me even harder.
I am as dedicated to my school work as I am to soccer. In school I push myself with honors and ap classes. My goal after high school is to attend college and graduate with a doctorate in Physical Therapy. I am taking classes in high school that will prepare me for the rigorous classes that i will need to take. For my senior project I did a job internship at "Grandview Sports Medicine" where I was able to get a feel for the job and if I was truly interested in the field. I enjoy this job because I love helping others, and I would love to work with athletes and be able to help them recover from an injury to get back on the field.
Outside of soccer and school I participate in crossfit at "Crossfit Apex". I have found crossfit to help me on the field, as it has helped me get stronger and put me in better shape. Family is an important part of my life. We spend a lot of time together and love traveling around the world and creating memories and experiences together. I also enjoy spending time with my friends as they are an influence on my life, and we all support each other in our sports by attending each others games. In my free time I also babysit for several families in my community.
It has been my goal and dream since I was a little girl to be able to play soccer in college. I would be very grateful to be able to go to a college where I can play the sport I love and fulfill my aspirations of being a physical therapist.
