Hi, my name is Avary Hall and I am a senior in the class of 2023. I currently play right wing for the Puerto Rico Caribbean Stars FC in Division 1 in the Puerto Rico soccer league (U20+ and Superior League). I am a versatile player as I sometimes fill in as a forward, any position in midfield, and although not often, outside back. Having moved so often throughout my youth I've been able to see how soccer changes from state to state, but most of all I have been able to admire how the sport brings people together.
I used to play soccer for National Union 03 Black in Michigan, where we recently competed in the National League Pro Championship in Orlando, Florida. I have also played for Heat FC 04 ECNL in Las Vegas, Nevada for about 2-3 years. These experiences allowed me to compete in high competition tournaments and learn other playing styles. Soccer has been my passion since I was 3 years old. Playing soccer has allowed me to be a part of a team that pushes me to be the best version of myself every day, not only for me but for my teammates and coaches.
As a student-athlete I understand the importance of balancing education and sports, this year I was invited to be a part of the National Honor Society. I’m a straight-A student and have balanced the workload with soccer my whole life. I’m a true student-athlete. Throughout high school, I have been able to balance demanding and vigorous classes and long practices and games, which is what I intend to do in college. I hope to continue my athletic career in college and continue to do what I love most.
In the field, I’m very versatile and a quick decision-maker. My adaptability has allowed me to make any situation into a good one. I love taking people on 1v1 down the sidelines and trying to find an open cross to anyone on my team, however, I'm also not afraid to take my chances when I get them. I am a more observant player as I like to be able to scan the field and visualize plays before they happen. My pace and athleticism have allowed me to open the game up and make impactful decisions when I step on the field, but more than anything those around me influence my game the most. Most importantly, having teammates equally excited for the competition and game is what pushes me to do my best and succeed for them.
