Last update:
I had ACL surgery last year and have fully recovered and resumed training. I am currently searching for a university that offers a program in bioresource or environmental engineering for autumn enrollment.
"Why me?" Do you ask yourself? Well, the answer is "Why not me!"
My parents always told me that it would be constancy and determination that would take me far. And you know what? I'm starting to believe them!
I have been playing soccer since I was four years old, and soccer is present in all aspects of my life. Over the years, many teammates and friends have given up soccer for various reasons, but you know what? I am still here. I made five regional selections for the Quebec club, and I'm still here. I'm playing at the AAA level this season, and this summer I will need to join a new soccer club because there aren't enough young women of my age for a team at my level, but you know what? I am still here.
And why? Because I live for soccer, and I made the decision to keep fighting to find my place and do what I love: playing soccer. I don't want to regret not giving it my all, and if you haven't figured it out yet, I want to play soccer.
If you ever take the time to meet me or talk to people who know me, you will see that I breathe and sweat soccer. Since I was little, soccer has always come first, even before family vacations. I have never missed a game or even a practice. Absences and delays are not an option for me. I am punctual, committed, dedicated, jovial, and a unifier. I am the teammate that everyone is looking for and the player that coaches want. And don't be shy to check it, it's not me who says it! On the other hand, I can tell you that I still want to improve myself and continue learning, and that is why I am still here.
Finally, even though soccer represents a huge part of my life, I have also succeeded very well in other areas. I am competitive by nature, and the more challenging something is, the better I strive to succeed. I finished at the international school of Laval in the top 10% of students, all while working and playing soccer! No sport intimidates me, and over the years, I have received several invitations to join many other elite sports.
So, in conclusion, now you know why I am still here. Therefore, I ask you the question: why not me?
