Ryleigh Rooney '25 Recruiting Profile

Hi my name is Ryleigh Rooney. I started playing soccer when I was 10. My love for soccer started from watching my older brothers, Zachary and Colby play when they were both in high school for my schools soccer team. After watching and seeing how much they loved it I wanted to give it a try. Growing up I did dance, most hip hop and I wasn't big in any other sports, but watching my brothers play I knew it was something I wanted to try. At first I was nervous I wouldn't like it but I loved it. Over the years I believe I've improved so much. I am a player that believes that other players deserve chances before I take them. As a teammate I would pass the ball before letting myself score. I know sometimes it's nice to score, but in my eyes it's better to see the joy of my teams scoring and me being able to celebrate them. I believe I am a strong player but also a strong leader, by helping people have fun and understand the fundamentals of soccer. Soccer is sport that is not only fun but sometimes tuff. Being able to improve and have fun helped me realize I wasn't done playing yet and I want to keep going.
