Soccer has always been apart of my life for as long as I can remember. I started playing church league soccer at age four. Club soccer began at age eight continuing to the present. One lesson I have learned is your teammates are like family and you can go to them for anything. The sport has given me an outlet to encourage and direct those whom are struggling. An example of my leadership abilities is when I was captain of the JV team at Jackson Christian. Most of the girls had played very little soccer and I enjoyed directing them on the field and even assisting a few on scores.
Sometimes adversity brings about the greatest reward. After starting my entire ninth grade year at Trinity Christian Academy, I transferred to Jackson Christian. The transfer made me ineligible to play Varsity (even though I attended summer camp and made the team) giving me the opportunity to be with JV described in the prior paragraph. The disappointment turned out to be a blessing as I cheered every Varsity game from the bench. If the memories were not enough, I was shocked to receive the leadership award for the Varsity team. I am so excited for my junior year next fall, but first spring club season, where I play right outside back.
