Dear Coach,

I would like to introduce myself – my name is Ryleigh Smith and I live in Alvin, Texas.  I am writing to you because of my interest in playing soccer at the collegiate level.  I have played on the High School Varsity Team 3 years. 

Just to tell you a little bit about myself……… I am a “defender” for The Lady Jacket Soccer Team.  Last year as a freshman I received the “Newcomer of the Year” award in District 22-5A as well as received the award from Coach Ruby at the end of the year banquet.  This year the Alvin High School Team competes at the 6A level, District 22-6A and just finished off our season in 2nd place and I received district honors.  In 2016, as a junior we finished 1st placed and were undefeated in district.  We lost in Round 4 of playoffs.  I was name 1st team all district this year. 

My upcoming plan is to continue playing soccer outside of my high school season as well as joining the “cross country” team for the upcoming year in order to maintain the energy and speed needed for soccer.  I also enjoy competing in area 5K runs which the most recent placing 3rd in my age group. I would also like to attend any upcoming camps that would be held at your university and hopefully be able to meet you in person.
