My passion for soccer really started to develop when I hit the 6th grade. I had joined a local co-ed club, with only 4 other girls. This was really challenging for me because I wasn't very social and I was surrounded by tons of talent. I had to work so hard to get any playing time, and to earn the respect of my male teammates. After a couple of months of training with my team, I discovered my ability to play as a defender. I had always played mid, but learned my strengths were in the defense. Because of my coach, I realized I had an eye for reading the field, a voice that can direct game play, and a positive attitude to encourage others. Because of my experience on this team it taught me how to work with others, leadership skills, and work-ethic.
I have been very grateful to have the sport of soccer in my life, and I wish to continue as I head off to college. I care very much about my education, and want to find a college fit for my educational needs. As well as finding a program that will help develop my skills, so I can be the best player I can be.
