Soccer has become my "happy place." All other worries and distractions are gone for the time I am on the field, whether it be practice or a game. My only focus is on soccer. The camaraderie of a team and everybody working for the same goal has provided some of the strongest relationships in my life. Common experiences help people grow closer together.
The competition makes me keep pushing to get better knowing there is always room for improvement. I know nothing comes easily and I have learned to push myself and train hard to reach my goals. I have attended college camps and ID camps to put myself up against the best competition. I participated in Indoor Track to learn the proper techniques that will enhance my speed.
In order to get where I want to go in life, I know that my highest priority now is getting good grades. I am proud to say that even though I am involved in High School Soccer, Club Soccer, Honors Band, Lacrosse, and Track, I have maintained a 3.5 GPA. I take honors classes including Honors Chemistry and Honors Symphonic Band and have learned to successfully balance all of those priorities. Although I am not sure what I plan to study yet in college I know I want to attend a school that will challenge me academically.
The opportunities that soccer has given me have made me into a confident leader. In my previous club, I was a team captain for the last four years. I have volunteered as an assistant coach for youth girls soccer and as a camp counselor for summer soccer camps. I believe it is important to be a role model for young players. In 2017, I was awarded out of my whole middle school graduating class with the highest level service award, voted on by my faculty. The award is given to the most selfless individual, who is willing to put others before themselves.
In the next few years, I will continue to push myself, both academically and athletically, in hopes that my hard work and dedication will lead me to where is best for me.
