My first experience with soccer was in the first grade. It started as an interest and has grown into a passion, helping to develop me physically as well as personally. This amazing experience has lead me to many friends, technical development, and mentors for success. I continue my High school career this fall with goals for athletics and education. I am enrolled in the “advanced diploma” and will apply for acceptance into the National Junior Honors Society. My athletic goal includes playing on the Varsity girls soccer team and working to make an immediate impact. These goals will lay the groundwork for my college goals of pursuing a nursing career while volunteering in summer internship in my community
Equally important are characteristics such as respect, responsibility, honesty and accountability. I received recognition for those traits in the way of a “Core Value” award.
Another building block to success that I exemplify is teamwork. Being a good teammate is paramount in any career in which you work with other people. I have worked with Special Education students as a “bus buddy” to assure their safety from the bus loop to the classrooms. This was a teachable moment for me in which I learned that I take a lot for granted. My success in leading others has resulted in being named a team captain for my travel soccer team. I take this responsibility seriously knowing I could be the catalyst to someone else’s success.
