2022 Highlights Personal Statement
Hi! My name is Ava Christopher and I'm a Junior at Freedom High School in Loudoun County, Virginia. I am very hardworking and passionate about soccer and I take advantage of every opportunity I have to perfect my craft. Whether it is in training or games, I always give 110% to push myself and my teammates. In addition to playing high school varsity soccer, I play for Virginia Valor FC ECNL-RL, and was just selected to be on NVA Select.
Virginia Valor FC ECNL-RL had a very successful 2023 fall season, both in ECNL-RL league play and in the Virginia State Cup (Finalist). we finished 2nd in our league and qualified to continue in ECNL RL State finals.
This past spring, I represented Virginia ODP in an international trip to Valencia and Madrid Spain, to train and play. Our team went 3-1 during our friendly matches, I learned a lot and made new connections with soccer players from Spain.
In 2022, while playing CCL, I was selected by the CCL to play for CCL United, and represent the CCL in a tournament in Denmark. We competed in the top flight of the Vildbjerg Cup, and we won the tournament (I was leading scorer for the team with 6 goals).
I am a very technical player, I have clean first touches, and make sharp passes. In the classroom I am also very focused and take pride in my schoolwork. I also push myself to take high level classes and get straight A's. My goal is to continue to push and challenge myself on the soccer field and in the classroom.
